tsp nutmeg

cup milk

yellow onion

cup flour

tsp salt

tsp pepper

tbsp garlic

idaho potato

tbsp fresh chives

cup cheddar cheese

cup sharp cheddar

cup gruyere
Instructions
1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 2: Peel and slice the potatoes into thin slices. 3: Melt 4 tbsp butter in a large pot over medium heat. 4: Add garlic and diced onions to the pot and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. 5: Add flour and cook for 2-3 minutes until thick. 6: Gradually add milk while stirring continuously until thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. 7: Stir in salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and combine with the cheese mixture. 8: Spray casserole dish with nonstick spray and layer half of the sliced potatoes. 9: Spread half of the cheese sauce over the potatoes. 10: Repeat with remaining potatoes and cheese sauce. 11: Top with chives and shredded cheddar cheese. 12: Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. 13: Remove foil and bake until golden brown and bubbly, about 15 more minutes. 14: Let sit for 10 minutes and serve.View original recipe
