Instructions
1: Make the sauce – Boil tomatoes for 10 min, then blend with onion, garlic, chiles, cilantro, El Matador Guajillo & Ancho Chile Adobos, chicken bouillon, and 2 cups of water. Strain and set aside. 2: Prepare nopales – Boil with salt or chicken bouillon. When boiling, add baking soda to reduce acidity and sliminess. Drain and set aside. 3: Make the patties – Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form, then mix in yolks and gradually add shrimp powder. 4: Fry – Heat oil in a pan, drop spoonfuls of batter, and fry for 2-3 min per side until golden. Drain on paper towels. 5: Combine – In a pot, bring sauce to a boil, add nopales and patties, and let simmer. Adjust salt if needed. 6: Serve – Finish with a squeeze of lime and enjoy with your favorite side!View original recipe
